About myself
My name is Rajen Kapadia, I have been trading for over 8 years, mainly in the fixed income field. After initially trading US stocks outright and not being able to find consistency or make any type of living from it, I enrolled in a prop trading course specializing in spread trading, where the primary focus is on wealth building rather than hitting those home runs.
After experiencing many differing market conditions, I feel that the safest and most consistent way to make an income through trading is through spreading, and I primarily trading STIRs (short term interest rate) products, mainly Euribor and Short Sterling. I also trade Stock Indices and currencies as well when clear opportunities present themselves.
I am a big believer in personal psychology, and believe its 80% of the key to success in this game, by using behavioural and technical approach with a structured trading plan increases the odds of becoming successful.
My Trading Philosophy
The beauty of trading is theres no one right way of doing it, each person trades in a way that bests suits their personality, and their risk tolerance.
I was drawn to the world of Spread trading, cause I was generally a very cautious trader, and at the time couldn't handle wild P&L swings.
What I was looking for was time to be right, and an ability to adjust trades should it not go my way, and this is what Spread Trading provided me with. In turn understanding the Spread Mentality helps with trading outrights also as it helps determine relative value between correlated pairs.
Having the foundation of slow and steady profits through Spread Trading has allowed me to try different things such as orderflow trading and trading options to tackle different market conditions.
Now I trade pretty much everything if there is an opportubity, from Futures, Spreads and Futures Options, I will look to take it.
To be a succesful Trader is difficult and I wouldn't say I have got to where I want to be yet, but I have gone through alot of market conditions, gone through all the emotions, with good and bad trades and have learnt invaluable lessons from them, which is shaping me to become a better trader going forward.
